To the Alps!

The time has finally come for Hickoy's solo quest to end, time to mount the Dragon and fly down to reclaim our missing Party Leader.  To the Alps we must fly!

Skoshi found him and was gifted a very fine hat.  He loves the thing and wouldn't take it off.

The view from the Lodge was impressive, Zugspitze was only visible this day though.

Grins LOVES the mountains.
After dinner we returned to our accommodations and all five minions tried to sleep in one bed.

This was quickly decided to be a bit too crowded by Chubbly's account.

The next day Hickory had business to attend to, so Hummingbyrd and the Minions went out exploring the perimeter.

Cannot see the mountains today, but the playground was still fun.

They do so much together.

Four brothers first.

Oooor we could put all five Minions on it at once.

LILACS!!!!

Mountain goats.

What they are watching.

When Papa returned the whole party headed out to look at Winter Olympics Park in the nearby town.

Then it was off to see more of the Storytellers beautifully crafted world.

Partnach Gorge, here we come!

We made it through the narrow passageways to the far end without losing any Minions.

Not even this guy.
Skoshi was in awe at the nature all around him.

Meanwhile the others were enthralled with the bugs on the ground.

The High Adventurers found the High Bridge....it was way to high for them to ascend though.

Attempting to get a Party photo.

Certain party members were uncooperative.

Back to the Lodge.

This was a continual favorite ride, it was free, so why not.

Breakfast time before we begin our day of Castle invasions.

Well, we can get some good rocking chair action in first.

Well now, that's new, Ehrenburg Castle now has this ridiculously high up bridge you can cross.  Those dots are people walking across the swinging bridge...we're on the ground below.

Can anyone reading guess where we are going?

If you said Hohenschwangau, you'd be right

Look citrus can grow in the Bavarian Alps...who knew?

There is just too much to explain, so you should just go see it yourself.

Hmm, that other castle doesn't seem too far away.

What say we walk over to it from here.

Why hello Neuschwanstein...you are massive, and were never even finished.

If this is the locking mechanism for the stables...one can only imagine what the castle doors locks looked like.

Pose for Grandmom everyone!

The Marien's Bridge.

Skoshi wanted to be carried by Grins, Grins was very excited to do so.

Everywhere the Minions go, they are surrounded by Asiatic tourist groups requesting photos...we don't have any idea why, we just know it happens...a lot.

Some landscapes and the view of Hohenschwangau from Neuschwanstein.
For those wondering it is not allowed to take any photos or videos within the walls of the castle.

Probably because it is SO amazing and wonderful and that would ruin some of its grandeur.

Off the beaten path.

And a view showing from a distance how close the two major palaces really are.

We bid adieu to Neuschwanstein and Hohenscwangau and headed to Castle Falkenstein.

Our lodging for the night at the "Olde Drink Halle".

Hickory preps the Party on our course of actions for the day.

Wow, an Inn that has been servicing the area for over 500 years.

The Peregrine Falcon at Falkenstein.

Well now that makes the world below look like a model train set.

The Inn at the top of the mountain.

Now on-wards to the Palace that never was.

Hummingbyrd and Skosh take in the view.

Pointing down into the valley at the "Olde Drink Halle."

Having such a great trip.

There have not been enough melt downs yet, let's fix that.

Okay...that's one.

Off to time out good sir.
Yes you have to stand there.

Everyone else is still in good spirits.

"Help!  I'm stuck.  Wait...don't just stand there taking pictures woman, get me out of here!"

Time to head back down the mountain.

After hiking it was time to stop for lunch, mmm time for liver and onions, and other fun things.

After eating it was time to hit the road again, off to see the tallest steeple in the world.
Bet you don't see many of those on the roads.

It was interesting to see that the choir was divided men and women's sides and were easy to distinguish by their separate 'patron' carvings.
The Women's side:

The Men's side:

Okay now everyone!

Okay that's about enough of that.

On to the next site of interest.

We'll master this photo thing eventually.

Yeah right Mama, we know better.

Now to measure it up to recreate it in Minecraft.

Yes you read that right.

We're thinking "Polished Marble" would look about right.

Well we had to walk back past the cathedral, might as well take a Gelato break.

Mmmm.
Beautiful old frescos, sundials, and gargoyles.

Wow, random Alpine Horn players.

As much fun as this was, it was time to finally head homeward.

Only one week until we take flight to lands foreign.  Until then, laters.
