Six (Part III, Final Part)

Ninth Month:
We officially become owners of our first Dragon, (Okay so you might think it's a Minivan...you are wrong, They are just dragons hiding in plain sight.)  The Gold Dragon was a marvelous upgrade from the Moose that used to transport us from place to place.  The Moose now has a job of just taking Lord Hickory to and from the Warlord's domain and our home.  The rest of the Party gets to ride Dragon-back.

After getting everyone introduced to our new mount,  it was time to go visit Grandma and Pop-Pop.
A little hide and seek at Great-Grandma and Great Grandpa B's.

So much family time requires a brief quest to the playground nearby.

Nothing like playing in M. Adams' yarn stash.

Dash takes up dog walking early with Annabrat as a practice pooch.

Time for some family portraits, all in courtesy of our Gorilla Grip and a chandelier.

Hanging out with Bohemi and checking out Pop-Pop and Grandma's toy stash.

Time to help Pop-Pop dig out bricks from an old patio buried under the yard.  Tough work.

Good thing Papa is around to help too.

Dash says farewell to Annabelle and it's off to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa H's.

Look, it's family history time!  Where is that resident Museum person?....Oh there she is!

Many stories shared, and good times all around, poor Dash needed a break though.

Great Grandma H proves that Bananas can with the heart of the most finicky of Wizards.

From there, Lord Hickory and Lady Hummingbyrd took their charges to their home Kingdom.

Time to go back to Lady Hummingbyrd's "natural" color.

Then heading north to Lady Thhh. and her family.

Back 'home' to visit with Lord Earthdawn's family and Sir Piper

One last meetup for Phloug and Winter's Party.

Then off to see The Emperor and his Lady to be.

Followed by an evening of dancing with friends.
After a refreshing visit back to their home Kingdom, they headed back to Granddad and Grandmom.

Memories of our homeland...

...or perhaps just proof Dragon was getting bored with his pathway.

Then again, so were his passengers.

Try as he might, Hickory cannot catch the wind...or the mill either.
Flora investigation at the Mire Kingdom gives a quick respite before the long journey back to the Peach Kingdom and our awaiting lodging in the Society Court.
Such amazing things can be found when you stop to eat and are not in a hurry.
Yummy!

No photographs allowed, but trust us, the quilts in there were Amazing!  (Other 2 pics are an inside joke.  Sorry, no other explanation.)  So on our way home we kept seeing these signs...they looked a lot like this.

So after passing what seemed like hundred of them, and having already stopped for cast iron cookware, we decided to stop and see what all the fuss was about.  So glad we did, and if you ever get the chance you should "SEE ROCK CITY" too.

Besides how could we turn down a chance to go to the top of "Lookout Mountain" to a town named "Fairyland"?  I mean, really?

The pictures don't do the place justice, but they give you a small idea what was involved.

Sadly none of the pictures of Fairyland Caverns or Mother Goose's Village turned out, those you just have to see to believe, they were surreal.

It has a fun and very throw-back appeal to the place, so little has changed over the decades it has been around, and yet it is still fun to see.
Trying to hold up the rock so it didn't crush us.  Looking down the stairway into Fairyland Caverns.

Well now that is an interesting way to 'end' things.

We didn't have time to stop and see the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, but we could stop and see Ruby Falls.  So here you can too. :)

Shortly after arriving home we had to have Granddad and Pop-Pop drive down and join us in our third major remodel/improvement of our quarters.  Re-roofing the house, this was due to a massive wind and hail storm destroying a lot of the shingles.  So here ya go.  Roofing in a few frames.

Pop-Pop checks in with the Foreman on the project.

Let's get the old stuff of and the new paper down.

Some new flashing, and a nail gun, and the new shingles go on amazingly well.

The Moose and the Dragon watch from the safety of the paddock.

Review of the day's progress.

Then taking a much needed rest before continuing.

Well rested another day passes.

Friends, Family, and our Party all work together to get it done.

Rocking out with Granddad and Dash.

Celebrating a job well done.  Then some final discussions with the Foremen.

Alright now time for Build-A-Bear Baby Version 2, Grins and Shire Took the Ice Fishers.

Some Minion playtime.

Pictures showing the finished product.  The animals all approve.

Dash's first attempt at Polymorph-Self...he's a Giraffe!  Not quite the size he hoped for though.

Tenth Monthr:
Dash is a big fan of blueberries, a BIG fan.

Thinking no big changes were on the horizon, we decided to remodel the kitchen and make it more ours.  After all we had just had to buy a new refrigerator and dishwasher, so why not?

Let's start by taking out these weird inlaid tile counter tops, remove all the cabinet doors too while we're at it.  That should make them easier to paint.  Time to get rid of some of the beige in here.

Demolition is awesome.  Random note, we discovered that Wicky was eating the dog food...weird cat.

Hummingbyrd paints while Hickory works on the counters.  At about this point we were informed that Hickory had been given a new quest that would take his party far from the Peach Kingdom as the Warlord Council had decreed he should garner teaching under a Druid nearer the Northern sea.

Suddenly our remodel was very poorly timed.  Hickory did as much as he could before he was forced to leave on the Moose.  Hummingbyrd enlisted the help of their friends in town to complete it before being able to follow Hickory on the Dragon.

The timeline was so close that neither got to see the finished product, but would have to wait months to see what it looked like put back together with the new hardware and paint on the cabinets.

Saying good-bye to C-Era and Kenners, oh wait the Dragon has come down sick.  Need to visit the Dragon vet.  Guess we'll stay with Hunter and Aurora for a bit first.

Grandmom came to help pack up our stuff.  October ended with us reuniting as a Party in our new home.

Unpacking the Minions.  We were right next to Aunt Bohemi's Kingdom, sight seeing was a must.

This short Quest was an amazing opportunity o travel and see sights we wouldn't get to visit otherwise.  Thanks to Aunt Bohemi we could visit frequently.

The Minions have little appreciation for this grand opportunity.

Much exploration and High Adventuring will be had during this Story arc it seems.

All Hallows Eve with Raggedy Andy and a Giraffe.

Eleventh Month:

Knowing it is but a temporary location we fully intend to take advantage of the opportunity that living in Aunt Bohemi's Kingdom provides.

We will take many small adventures into the City and the regions beyond.

Dancing with Mon-Mon

Dash is always excited to greet Hickory as he returns from work, as is Grins, Oz, Sunlit, Withawick, and Illiyana.

Party relaxation is important too between adventures.

Hickory passes his knowledge of plants onto Dash,  Grins decides Papa tastes better than Mint.

Infant Potty Training, yes it is a thing.  Yes it works, no we didn't do it right. :p

Grins continues his attempts to eat Papa.  Mama finds him something better to eat.

The Smithsonian is BEAUTIFUL...so glad we took a trip to go see it.  Had no idea that it was all free to the public either.  Now we know, and now so do you.

Okay so the Minions were not as impressed with a bunch of Museums as their Party Leaders were.

The temperatures are dropping and our spirits are soaring.  Here is hoping we get to show the kids real snow soon.

Lord Hickory and Lady Hummingbyrd LOVE having a fireplace....so toasty.

Grins gets his first cold, poor guy.  Luckily Illiy and Wicky are on patrol and very protective.

Dash continues working on perfecting his Wizard spells while Withawick looks on.

Little did we know that Withawick Hinkeypunk had little time left with us.  He went to live with Greycloud, only to pass away due to a genetic malformation of his kidney.  R.I.P. Wicky.

Thanksgiving was held at Aunt Bohemi's, Sir Just, Lady Jen and Conbon and Loges all came to join us.

Such delights as Cousin time can bring.

Pop-Pop and Grandma were also present.  It was decreed that all should visit the Smithsonian Zoo.

It is unfortunate that not all families have the fortune of having one member living so close to the Smithsonian as we do.

Dash showing Pop-Pop and Grandma around.

Visits from our friends warrant trips back into the city.

Twelfth Month:

Christmas time brings family back together again.

Exploring our little village.

Silliness with Papa.

Silliness with Mama.

Silliness with Oz-Dog.

Grin's first Christmas and first solid foods.

Still no snow, but lots of exploring.

Thus the Eight year of the new Millennium passed.
